Virtual Art Show Rules & Guidlines

The Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa Virtual Art Show is a juried art exhibition for Girl Scouts in the Greater Iowa council. The Virtual Art Show will select ten Outstanding Artists, who will be awarded a certificate, a program patch, and an art supply kit worth up to $100. Each Girl Scout in the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa council may submit one piece of artwork to the Virtual Art Show. All artwork submissions are due by Friday, April 30, 2021.

All artwork submitted to the Virtual Art Show will be judged, and our judges will choose five (5) Outstanding Artists from two age divisions - Daisy, Brownie, & Junior Division (Grades K-5) and Cadette, Senior, Ambassador Division (Grades 6-12). A total of ten (10) Outstanding Artists will be selected.

ART SHOW GUIDELINES

Deadline
Artwork and entry form must be submitted by Friday, April 30, 2021 at 11:59 pm.

Artwork Formats
All forms of visual artwork will be accepted. Artwork should be original pieces created by the submitting Girl Scout.

Artwork submissions should be in the form of a digital image file no larger than 10 MB.

Artists
All registered Girl Scouts in the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa council can participate.

Girl Scouts must be a member of the Girl Scouts of Greater Iowa Council - the virtual art show is not open to those not registered or out-of-council Girl Scouts.

Judging Criteria
All entries will be judged according to the following criteria:

  • Creativity and originality

  • Technique

  • Organization

  • Interpretation of theme

Submission Information
All artwork must be submitted through the online entry form. Each entry must include:

  • Girl Scout Name

  • Parent/Guardian name

  • Parent/Guardian email address

  • Preferred shipping address

  • Artwork title

  • Image file of artwork

  • Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors will be asked to submit an artist statement.
